RIP Basil 😢🐥

Basil, you were too young, I'm sorry I wasn't there to say goodbye, or be the one who gave you your last hug. All I want to do is see you again, and let you know how much you meant to me.

Today I got some very upsetting news from the neighbors. Basil was found dead in the corner of the coop. I can't stop crying.

Basil was the kind of chick who loved to sleep on your lap. She was the one with the big brown eyes you couldn't say no to.

I'm not sure. The neighbors just said she didn't come out this morning so they chicked to coop and she was dead. No blood or anything.
I'm not home because I'm on holiday so they were looking after them. I don't blame them for what happened, they were doing a great job

I’m so sorry pippin. Basil was a very cute, precious chick. It‘s hard when you leave them thinking they‘ll be okay and their not. I wish their was something I could do to relieve your pain, but their isn’t. If you ever need anyone to talk to I’m here

I am very sorry this happened. Being away and not able to check on them yourself must make it even harder.

Perhps your neighbours would be willing to check for poultry mites when closing the coop at night using a torch light and looking under the roost bars and into the coop corners and nest boxes.

I dread things like this, anytime I leave town. For some reason it hurts more when you aren't there for it.

I've lost a few precious chicks this summer and it's never easy for me either. I'm so sorry for your loss, sending you lots of love your way! ❤Basil was a cutie.
