RIP Beautiful Lacy...My First Loss Ever

Thank you all so much. Only you people understand tears over a dead hen. I was just at the feedstore where I got Lacy and the other original girls and they had some SLW pullet chicks. I didn't buy one; can't replace my Lacy, but I still have Lorelei and Violet. Thank you all again.

My first and only loss was an SLW as well. It's really heart breaking. I can't tell you how happy I was to open up the box of chicks last night and not find dead ones. I would have just fallen apart. I'm kind of a mush too when it comes to little things and animals that rely on me to protect them.

I'm sorry you lost her, two years with a best buddy are two of the best years of your life and hers. Just think of all the people on here who might have her decendents to carry on her wonderful personality and memories.
