Some of you may remember us getting chickens last year and being surprised when they were not young laying chickens but from a battery cage farm and were beyond laying years. Henny pPnny was our heart. She was so sweet and actually won lots of ribbons and $35 at the 4h pet competition. The last couple of weeks we could see her age was catch up with her. She passed yesterday. We found her in the morning and were able to love on her one last time before she passed.
Ironically, in December, I ordered out spring chickens and I ordered one Red Star, knowing Henny's days were limited. Yesterday the chicks were born. Little Henny was born on the day her name sake passed away. Today we got to meet Little Henny. She has a big name to live up to but she is already our favorite!
