I lost my beloved June Bug, Junie yesterday evening.
She was limping the night before, so I put her in a crate with food and water so she could limit her mobility and heal. I checked on her yesterday afternoon after a busy day to find her passed. She was in the same spot as last night, and her food nor water were touched.
When I put her in the crate, I had to chase her around a couple times before being able to grab her. In the end she just let her grab her which was odd. I figured she might have been stressed, and possibly more trusting from the last time I treated her. This is the same hen that was attacked by the dog about a month ago. She injured her foot and had one little scrape, but was fine otherwise.
I'm not sure what could have happened. She must have been going already, and the stress of me chasing her pushed her over the top? I do want to know what happened, though I haven't decided if I want to preform a necropsy yet. Guesses as to what may have happened are welcome, though I know theres no way to know for sure without opening her up.

RIP June Bug, Junie. You were the sweetest, and loudest duck I've ever met. May you live on through your daughter Rosie. I will love you forever and always.
