This morning I woke up without knowing one of our chickens Noir, was gone. Until my mum said Noir last night started to buck.
We know her buck very distinctly. Ed my bro went and looked for her and said "Nothing, she's gone".
Noir, not like the other chickens, does not go in the coop at night but goes and sleeps in a bush.
We got her from a friend because she was broody and we wanted a broody hen. She did not succeed in hatching chicks.
She is crossed with silkie and Australian langshan bantam.

When we got her she was too old to lay.
So back to the crime seen. Feathers were everywhere. The branch she sleeps on was twisted forward but no teeth marks.
So I took the dog to the scene of the crime. He did sniff then he ran down the hill.
Then he ran into a big pile of cacti known as rabbit homes.
We still haven't got out the prickles.
So by that I don't think it's a fox because Skip (the dog) would be hyper.
So I think it's a cat but how knows?
.
Noir is French for black by the way.
RIP Noir
11/2/13 to 17/5/13 is how long we had her.
