Ripley is such a lucky, pretty gal! So happy to hear she is doing well!

Besides I don't think Chickens get self conscious. They just enjoy what they are able to do.

Hey all! Sorry I've been slacking here. Ripley is doing great and has even started laying eggs! Only 1 a day though, not two. No issues either! She's pretty much stopped like everyone else through with the cold/ dark weather. Now I'm off to check out the 3 legged chick!

Nope, nothing that I've found. She does need her tooshie washed though. Every now and then, it gets to the point where she needs a cleanup from poo. I have a video of her in the nest box just singing away. I'll have to try to find a way to get it uploaded. DH merit using the eggs so I never got a chance to see if they were fertile...

I need to check when she picks back up on the laying again (DH cooked all her eggs). I don't know how a roo would be able to figure it out though lol

I don't know what the opposite of polymelia would be called, but Cackle hatchery raised a chick hatched without wings, and they have featured him at their yearly chicken festival. Apparently he's a local celebrity.

Amelia is the absence of a limb or limbs, and begins with a long ā, so doesn't sound like the name. Dysmelia is the umbrella category including amelia and polymelia.

I will be utterly amazed if any of her eggs are ever fertile!

At the very least I would definitely let a vet take a look at her.
