I thought possible spider bite. Can't see a bite mark, but with all the swelling. . ..
We have lots of spiders here. None of the others show any symptoms yet. I've not noticed discharge from the nose.

Thanks for the input!

Sorry about your loss.

If it were 1 eye, I'd think possibly a peck. But both eyes? The left is worse than the right. Just before dark the discharge was clear like water not like puss. One thing for sure, she does not like me pressing the stuff out!

Thanks everyone for your input, I appreciate you all!

That is not from a peck in the eye and you did right by cleaning it each day. It is from congestion in the sinus cavity and it is backing up. I am fighting the exact same thing now with (started out 8) 6 baby chicks. As soon as I noticed it I started treatment with Tetracycline and purchased an eye ointment from my Vet. I used it for 10 days and lost 2 chicks regardless. Upon realizing it was not working and almost getting ready to lose a 3rd baby, I bought a stronger antibiotic from the co-op, Aureomycin. I know it states it is for Swine Only, but after 3 days of use, I already see them getting better and the 1 that was near death is starting to move around. My Farm Vet said I am lucky that they lived and not many would care for them the way I did daily.

I washed their eyes twice a day and added the ointment and gave fresh antibiotic water daily.

I have been fighting this same problem sporatically this summer. All my research points to a respiratory infection. I have culled about 3 that were just beyond help and have others separated while I doctor them. I have tried Tylan 50 with Vetrx with ok results, and duramycin in their water with ok results, but I had the best results when I got desparate and gave them some amoxicilan. It seemed to work the best of everything. I am still working on six birds that are better, but not completely over it. Keeping my fingers crossed.
