I have a 24 week old RIR that started laying at 20 weeks. She has only missed one day since she started but her eggs are kind of small. Will they get bigger with age?

Thanks in advance for you input!

Small compared to what?

She is still young. I find it takes about a month to get up to size, but my true RIR never laid big eggs. They were a medium-large (a small large).

Now my RSL lays JUMBO eggs. She makes any other eggs look small.

Is she really a true RIR?

I sure hope so.

I have a speckled sussex who just started 10 days ago - laying every other day. Her eggs are tiny - about as big around as a quarter - maybe an inch and a half long. I'm really hoping that they're gonna get bigger.

I believe she is a true RIR, her eggs are small i guess to what i have read they would be. right now I would say they are like a small/medium size and I have read that they should lay a regular large sized egg.

I think they have gotten slightly bigger over the past three weeks

Thanks
