Yeah, there aren't too many absolutes with chooks (or anything I guess). I'm an Australian, most hens I see are pointy-neck-feathered, but I've noticed that most hens I see pictures of from America have the rounded feathers you spoke of.
I also see very different leg scales between USA and Ozzie chooks. It's a really locational thing I guess.
