New Hampshire from a hatchery are usually bred for utility purposes mostly egg production for backyard use.
For that purpose they are excellent chickens.
However for a dual purpose they lack size and shape for the meat purpose.
For exhibition quality they lack size shape and color.
Attached are examples of male and female dual purpose strain.
There’s no right or wrong it’s a matter of what you desire and your purpose.
