Do you mean they fly a lot? It is funny because when I open the coop in the morning, all my chickens just walk into the run, but these 3 run and fly. I just thought they do that because they are young.

That's typical for Leghorns and all the Mediterranean breeds in fact. Its just their nature. They'll do it all their lives.

No, it means that in general as a breed they are known for being not "friendly"... towards people. Or rather it's that they tend to be more nervous and predator wary... NOT likely to be lap birds.

But all are certainly individuals... and I just LOVE seeing the mold be broken or the stereotype NOT hold up!

Nurture or nature... a little of both. Glad you like them. Though Welsummer are known for their beautiful dark eggs... the hatchery birds I have had did hit the color mark but left MUCH to be desired in the consistency department... and weren't friendly but rather more aloof.
