RIR Pullet Mounting My Salmon Faverolle Pullet

My RIR pullet (the NHR too) is totally dominating my poor little SF. The RIR and NHR pullets are ten months old and the SF is seven months old. They’ve pulled out half of her beard and mount her like a roo would. My seven month old BLRW cockerel is pretty good about breaking up the mounting incidents, but he doesn’t seem to notice the feather pulling (which they also do to an EE pullet). Is there anything I can do other than separate the two “mean girls?”

How much space do you have in your coop and run? Sometimes these types of behaviors can be overcome with more personal space as well as lots of different elevations of perching available.
Unfortunately, SFs are quite mild mannered and often the victims of bullying. Beard and ear muff pulling is likely a combination of boredom and curiosity at the feathers that are sticking out. They are different.

Hi Dobie! They have plenty of room - the coop is 8’x10’ with four levels of roosts and the run is 10’x18’ with a bunch of levels and plenty of roost space. Plus, they all get to free range several times a day. I think the reds just enjoy wreaking havoc. They both are kind of loners sometimes as they are usually the first to wander away and not pay much attention to the rest of the flock while outside. Who knows?

RIR do Best with only red Birds. They are known to be aggressive. Birds of a feather flock together...

This, totally this. Nooo way would I put my Favs with a RIR due to this sort of thing. Favs are meek as all get out so it is no surprise this is happening, EE girls aren't the boldest either but RIR's are without a doubt chicken bullies.
