You'll get a mixed breed, likely somewhere in color between RIR and BO, probably with a bit of black leakage in the tail.
Several of my BO's have black leakage on their tails now and they are suposed to be BOs. I bought 20 of them from rual king as day old BO chicks.
im sitting here wondering if i really bought BO's then or some hybrid?
They're hatchery quality BOs. The way hatcheries work these days is lazily; mostly they just breed what they have without regard to any feature besides egg production. However, many hatcheries do outcross their stock to other breeds on a regular basis. I've seen some hatcheries selling straight up mutts. No hatchery sells birds which could be considered real examples of the breed any more. Whenever buying from a hatchery, assume they've done outcrossing in AT LEAST the past three generations. If you want the "real deal", go to a breeder who breeds to the standard.
