RIR X White leghorn . . . know of any?

I dont know any hatchery that has any thing by that name.
What hatchery did you get it from? Dunlap?
And like krys said "if the leghorn is the male you could do a sex link on rate of feather growth"

I did I picked it up from Dunlap, But they didn't hatch it. They had a large shipment in from somewhere else after they were done hatching for the year. They just sold me one to keep my single hatch company. They called it a Red Brit and said it was a RIR X White Leghorn. But When I called back later to get more they wouldn't sell any more said they were using them for a breeding program. Wouldn't tell me where they came from, but I did ask if it was a sex link and the lady said no . . . I don't know maybe she didn't really know . . . or maybe the RIR was the male? What I DO kow is that I've got the absolute nicest personality chick and if she turns out to be the layer that I expect she will I would like more!

I had two eggs hatch from my Welsummer roo and white leghorns. One is a roo and the other a pullet. Looks like they will be red in color and were slow to feather. They are nice birds as well-can't wait to see how she produces next year.

thanks for the offer, I don't think I would want to pay the shipping cost for so simple of a cross, really I was just looking for the hatchery that produced this one bird . . . crazy I know!

You know- it's not a guarantee that if you find one it will have the same temperment. I can't believe the personality differences in my birds. Cochins are supposed to be really docile. I have some that you can walk right up to and pick up, and others that run from me like I have an axe.

I know I get that, I have 70 birds in my flock and it's the same here. I am just looking for someone who might know of the hatchery that calls their RIR X White Leghorns by the name "Red Brit"
