is there a way to sex RIR when young?

like Buff Rocks boys wing feathers are much shorer than girls & grow out much slower than girls!

anything like this for RIR?

Well, the same feathering thing can generally apply to most birds... however, it is just a guess and not 100% even in the buff rocks. Chances are, if you got them from a hatchery, they were "feather sexable" thus the father was a slow feathering type, bred over the female fast feathering type, thus this trait could be passed on to the offspirng.

Not completely certain, it's what I speculate though.
