RIR's eating ants.

I can't beleive my chickens were eating ants and not just one or two , but gobs of them.
They were what I call Carpenter ants a smaller black ant somewhere between a big red ant and fire ant.
Has anyone else ever seen this?

wish I could get my chickens to eat ants. We have them EVERY where. And they love to bite/sting anything in their path.
