Roaches in the brooder

The only form that I've seen it in is either for plants or livestock. Both were pulled from the shelves in March by the federal government.
Interesting.
It's been banned here for poultry for quite awhile,
tho many still use it ....often citing 'it's OK in Canada'.

You could put the glue traps under a shoe box top (or something similar homemade?), with something to barely raise the lid enough for the roaches to get in, but not high enough for chicks to get near the glue. Put something in the middle of the glue trap to attract the bugs.
I like that idea. Maybe put a glue trap with some attractant in a tightly lidded plastic food container with some slits cut into it, big enough for bugs but chick safe?

Yep, we know those little boogers can get in even the smallest of cracks. Just getting them to go in is the kicker. lol

Now I'm picturing lining the bottom of one wall with glue traps, and barely slanting a board (piece of cardboard, or wire?) in front of it... enough to keep the cover from sticking to the glue, but covering it enough so the chicks can't get to it.

Solutions on the go! I love brainstorming with friends! :clap

Great ideas all around! Now I’m envisioning a giant covered sticky roach trap that could run along one wall to permanently keep in there..

Anyway, the glue traps only arrived today (didn’t have access to a car to go down the road lol). I tacked one up at the very top in a corner where I think the most roach traffic would be. Hopefully it’s got some biters tomorrow.. I’m wondering if there’s a sticky “bait” I could dab in the middle? Not sure what roaches like.

The sevin dust is seemingly working great, I found some dying crawlies on the inside of the circle, but I haven’t been out super late at night again to check how if it’s impacted the roaches.
It looks like I’ve got one of those ritual salt circles around the coop.

Did the glue traps work??
