Road Trip......

Don't forget New England, rich in U.S. history. Boston with so much revolutionary history. Plymouth with the rock and Plymouth Plantation. I went on a field trip with my sons class last year. I have lived in MA all my life and I could not believe how much I learned. You could probably find alot to teach your children, just from my area alone.

New England also has MT. Washington, which I believe has the most extreme weather in the U.S., very beautiful. You can see all of New England from there on a clear day.

We recently went to Gatlinburg TN and motored
toured the Smokey Mountain National Park.
One interesting and very scenic place we visited was Cades Cove.
Its steeped in history and a beautiful mountain valley.

Clingmans Dome is the highest mountain in TN.
Unfortunately it was cloudy the day we were there
but here's a pic I took along the way via Newfound Gap.

There were beautiful mountian streams everywhere!
Plus we saw 3 Black Bears!

I worked in Yellowstone a few summers ago. I lived in Mammoth Hot Springs, and we took trips all over the park. In Mammoth there are always elk around, and some mornings we would have to detour around them because they were in the lawns around the hotel and staff buildings.
