A friend texted the wife and said "My daughter found two chicks in a box beside the road marked Free Chicks." We already had some under a brooder, so over they came. My best guess is that the yellowish one was a week old when they arrived and the brown one was a few days younger, that would make them two weeks old, but that's all serious guessing on my part comparing them to our barnyard mutt chicks.
Both brown and yellowish have sort of webbing between toes, both have feathers on the toes.
Forgive the terrible pictures of the tan/brown one. To say it doesn't like being held would be an understatement, where the yellow one just settles in to be held.
