(Ambling means slowly walking, not walking quickly, lol, but I just realized I hate that word anyway so...)
Cragan walked at a normal, socially acceptable speed. Absolutely no one could take issue with his speed, except for old grannies.
I realize that’s true now, but the word sounds like a slow trot to me. 😭
(I was picturing the badlands as rainshadow territory)
Ooo, yes.
(Close to the Canyon Runner's and the Wetlander's territory Borders)

Spruce ran as fast as he could even though he new that the Wetlanders wouldn't follow him past the borders. It felt weird to him talking about the Wetlanders as though he wasn't a former Wetlander scavenger. I hope I'll get to see Lotus again he thought gloomily Maybe next time I'll be able to talk her into joining the Canyon Runners. He looked over his shoulder as he was running just to make sure the Wetlander wasn't behind him.
(Badlands—near Swamp border)

After several hours of walking, Arran could tell they were near the Wetlander’s border. He could see the trees and smell the stagnant waters of the swamp, and he wrinkled his nose slightly.
Arran had never liked the smell, and wondered how the Wetlanders tolerated it.

He thought he heard something ahead, but couldn’t see anything past a small rise of boulders.
Just as he turned around the corner of a boulder. *WHAM* . He smacked head first into Arran. " OH MY TAILS AND TALONS, I'M SO, SO, SO, SORRY" He halfway yelled apologetically. He made one last glance over his shoulder to make sure that the Wetlander wasn't following him, even though he knew deep down that he was really debating on whether to go back for Lotus. He turned to look back at Arran and Cragan, both of them with that same skeptical look everybody in the Canyon Runners tribe made when they see him. He knew it was because he was an orphan and they have yet to accept him even though he has been in the Thunder for over 4 Years. " I am VERY sorry!" he said one last time to make sure they knew he truly was ashamed.
A large.. something.. smacked suddenly very hard against Arran’s chest, causing him to let out a short, surprised roar.
He staggered back, slightly dazed, and he looked up in shock at the green tyrant stammering apologies in front of him.

The first thought that flashed through his mind was: Wetlander!
But the red markings around his face and neck made Arran think twice.
The thought flashed, he’s a Canyon Runner? a mere moment before he realized who stood before him.

It was the Wetlander who’d joined their thunder several years ago. He’d always been a bit of an outcast.
Arran didn’t hate him, but he also didn’t really.. like him. He just sort of.. didn’t mind the tyrant—his scales were always a dull reminder to the thunder where he’d come from. That he “didn’t belong.”

The green tyrant repeated his apology with an achingly desperate look on his face.
Arran stared at him in surprise. “You?” He exclaimed.

Lotus watched gloomily at the bushes her brother disappeared into. She didn't want to leave the Wetlanders and join a thunder she knew nothing about, but a part of her really did want to leave to stay with her brother. What if I don't see him for another 3 years she thought anxiously. After a long, long pause, she violently shook away the worrying thought and headed back to the thunder. She couldn't stop thinking about his offer. What if I didn't refuse? What if I did leave the thunder and live the life of being called a traitor by your own tribe? Would it be worth it to be with her brother? She looked around desperately trying to find something to take her mind off her worries. Just then she saw the horrific sight of the scourge flying out of the water at a tyrant. She fell into a crouched position in the shrubs and watched. She knew because of her size she wouldn't be any help. The only tyrant she could recognize was Nox. All the other tyrants were running frantically in a panicked mess. After everyone recovered from their shock she emerged from the bushes and walked over to Nox, trying to ignore her trembling legs. " What happened " she choked trying not to sound as terrified as she really was.
Don’t forget to tag @Somewhere_In_The_Clouds ! :)

I don't know how to tag someone:oops:
Oh don’t worry! It took me a sec to figure out too. 😂

Just type the @ symbol, and then start typing the person’s username. It should bring up some results, and you can either finish typing the whole username, or just click on the person as they appear for a shortcut. :)

Try with my name! @Blue Raptor

"Spruce?" Cragan asked. "Were you sneaking off to Wetlander territory?" His tone was as inextricable as his own feelings. Was he accusatory, curious, or suspicious? He supposed he was all of those at once. "Wait," he said. "Are you a spy?"

@Chicks_r_our_modern_Dinos

Ah, that’s right.
He’s been hesitant to ask the green tyrant’s name after realizing he’d forgotten it. Arran was curious about his suspicious actions as well. Cragan had made a good point.

Was Spruce really loyal to the Canyon Runners like everyone doubted? The information that he’d snuck onto the Wetlander’s territory would be enough convincing the thunder needed to outcast him.

“Hey, hey, maybe he’s not a spy.”
Arran said half-heartedly, trying not to escalate the situation.
He looked over at Spruce with an unreadable expression his face. “What are you doing over here? Surely you know this is all it would take to get you kicked out of the thunder, right?”
