I had time this morning to just do two of these.

Had to kill the snake first

, then the phone rang off the hook but they are some good looking birds. I left them whole to use as roasters this time.

7 More to go.

Wow Becky!

What coop was the snake in? In with your meaties or layers? It looks like he just had a meal. What did he eat?

That must have been a surprise!!!!

It is the 3rd one of those snakes we have had this year. He was in a cage with my BTW Japanese bantams, there were 4 half grown chicks in the cage (now there are only 2). He also killed one of the pyncheons in a cage on the other side of the back shed. It killed three chicks and a BTW hen day before yesterday so I knew it was out there. I have to watch for these snakes every time I go out there. Last year we had 4 of them. We live by the lake and there are a lot of big snakes here.

Wow, that snake looks scary. What breed was this roaster? It looks very round. I am looking for some roasters to add to my dual purpose flocks.

It is a cornish x. I just called it a roaster because that is how I am going to cook it.

Actually my daughter-in-law asked me if we were going to eat the last one. I guess just because I can kill quail and chickens that I can do anything, lol. Nah, I think I'll pass on the snakes until we are faced with famine, lol.

SHHHH! Don't speak their names! I have yet to see a rattlesnake here and you might draw them to us!
