i tried and failed becaue i accidently squised the egg. . watch out they have a long incubation time. i think it is like 35days.

What ever happened? My son just found four robins eggs on our grass and one was broken. He was so worried about them! I told him we'd candle them to see if there were babies inside growing. There aren't. He insisted that we try to hatch them. I told him it won't work but he was going to hold them in his shirt and freaked at the thought of throwing them out, so I went ahead and put them in a collander with a tiny saucer to elvate them above a heating pad and a container of water. I covered it with a cake pan and promised him I'd give it my best shot.

I'm afraid of these blowing up, so when should I candle again?
