Robots?

When I look down at the bottom of the home page I see something like this: 2190 total, 300 members, 1800 guests, 90 robots.
Can someone who is a little more technologically advanced than myself tell me why there are robots here? Seriously, what kind of bots? Are they spying in order to offer us products? obtain our private information? what do they want? Are they spying for the commercial egg companies? HELP!! This paranoia will destroy ya...or me!
