New to chicken raising and sorry of this falls in the wrong category but we are trying to figure out if our girl maybe a boy. It was supposed to be female but u know that means nothing. At day old or so it had full black down its legs and bright colored large yellow spot on its head. At 1 to 2 months it began to do an odd crow. At 3 months the crow is still not full loud rooster but louder. It is not timid like the other 3 for sure hens. Very out going and has taken dominance of the 4 bird flock. It appears more grey and white then black and white but no spurs yet just bumps. It has rounder feathers on the tail. Heres some pics. Momma loves it because of its character but we cant have a rooster due to noise. Any help? If thats as loud as the crow will get we can deal or is it just warming up? Thanks everyone

Thanks all for replies. I had a friend come check it out. He said same thing. He said it was a dominique and i cant base the coloring of a female-male barred grey black due to different breed. Then he said i had a dominate hen acting as a manate?? So given his suspenders and the words he used i will take him to his word unless we start spitting out fertilized eggs. Lol. He heard ot crow before he left and said "thats cute, shes trying". So now i am at a loss. I thought it would be more clear cut and dry.

Gee, I'm not being rude, but I think your friend is a wee bit out to lunch...that is a cockerel, the stature, crown, and the pointed saddle feathers all say it

I agree with you. Its not rude. I guess it really is hard with these online post. Its my first and tried to give the best info and photos i could but i really wish yall could see it in person. It was hatched march 17th. So its a saint pattys bird and that alone we cant get rid of it. I guess we will just see. Long as it keeps that lower crow and its healthy.
