Yes, that is what I suggested in post #2 as a possibility, before seeing a picture. Looks pretty similar. I guess that MS can cause the similar thickening in the bones as osteopetrosis (which is kind of unusual anyway.) I wish more people would share their experience and pictures of MS. It's something very common, yet hard for most to diagnose. Kkowa, so sorry for your loss, but he is no longer in pain. Of course, we don't know he has MS, but if you refrigerate, not freeze his body, you could send him to the state vet for a necropsy. You would want to know if he carried MS.
