Rocking on Day 19 - Still Rocking on Day 23

We went to bed to cheeping in the bator and woke up to one pipped egg. It's a steady worker, lots of rocking and cracking! Can hardly wait to see it!

One chick is out! I can't believe how much havoc the little one is wreaking in there! So much for my nice little rows of eggs! Here are couple pictures.

Awe! Congrats! You're so lucky...I've NEVER seen them rock, and believe me....I've watched and watched for it!

All the other eggs stopped rocking while the hatched chick was tumbling about. When it was finally fluffy, I went ahead and took it out. Within 1/2 hour another 3 or 4 eggs were back to rocking. Hope we see another pip soon!

I'll try to get a fluffy picture posted. I really like the Buckeye coloring!

Three more have pipped this morning. We hear chirping off and on, but no zipping yet.

And what's with this "rooster" substitution for ova (you know, the "e" word) that I am seeing in all the posts!

Good luck!
We just saw another pip and a zip! Hooray! Now the first won't be so lonely.

Hecate,

My first one hatched this AM at 3AM PST...no others yet though...boy is he lonely.....If I read your post right you said you took your first one out? I thought we werent supposed to open the bators during hatches? I want to take mine out because he looks so cramped in there......
