Rocking on Day 19 - Still Rocking on Day 23

Hi Ducati,
I did take the first one out because I was worried that the rolling around he was causing would prevent the others from hatching. I've read that it's fine, and some who say the rolling around isn't good, but I should probably have left him in. I've got four more pipped today - one just about ready to pop out! And we will not be home when they hatch out, so I guess there will be more soccer in the bator!

Two more hatched out while I was gone this afternoon, and there's anotherI know is pipped.

A quick update - we had two more hatched in the incubator this morning, and another one is zipping. We're up to 5 out of 15!

It seems the final count is 8 out of 15. There are still eggs in the incubator, but no signs of pipping or even rocking. Should I take them out, or leave them in for a few more days? I think they got kicked around too much!

4-5-09 We turned off the incubator today and took out the last of the eggs. 3 were yolkers, 2 quit early, 1 quit at about 2 1/2 weeks, and one was fully developed but had a crossed beak and the lower beak was longer than the upper, so it could not pip the egg (we had seen its egg rock). All to say, we ended up with 12 fertile eggs out of the 16 we received, and had 8 of the 12 hatch, making me very pleased with a 75% hatch!
