Rocks, Ameraucanas Growing Up ( New pics post 85 @11.5 Weeks)

Levi is indeed gorgeous!! I'd take loads of pics of my Ameraucana boys too, but we don't have sun like you guys.

Also, as sweet as my boys are - They move around a LOT.

I've never had such sweetheart cockerels before though! Even my latest batch of chicks - The Araucanas and Ameraucanas are more brave and friendly than the Marans. . . Except this one cockerel. Aah he's sweet and stubborn.

And those beards!! Nothing like hand feeding a bunch of Ameraucana boys and feeling those downy beards on your hand.

They'll be 10 weeks old Wednesday. Here are a few shots of them.

My favorite video is the one where you call Tiny's name and she responds! LOVE IT ! ! !

She is the sweetest little thing. I'm so glad she decided to stick around so we could watch her grow up and enjoy her. Such a personality she has!

When I keep another cockerel, my next one will have a better beard than the one I have now (hopefully one like Levi), and I also want to darken the neck feathers. My roo is a little too gold there. But I kept the one I have because he came out of a blue blue egg (Peachick egg), so I forgave him a little gold in the neck. The girls Im using are from Jean, so that must be why the second generation has much better beards.

So, what do you say about Levi's hackle color? I'm not sure how it's supposed to look in this color variety.

I think Jean needs to chime in on this one. I think it looks light right now, but he has a long ways to go.

I just looked at the picture of mine again on my BYC page, and he's light, but probably not hideously light. But Jean will know for sure.
