JaeG, they are beautiful! I can see why Fred was not cheap! I hope they will hatch eggs for you! My parakeets did, and it's fun to watch them grow. I've been meaning to get a good picture and post it, but it's kind of hard to get a good picture in that dark nestbox.
Ok, this makes me have to show off our Rosa Bourkes. We are intending to breed them and hand raise some babies but they haven't quite got their technique sorted! We live in hope! Name: Pinkie Pie (I call her Miss Pink) Age: about a year old Breed: Opaline Fallow Rosa Bourke Username: JaeG Pinkie is smart and untrusting of our children - she grumbles at anyone who gets too close to her cage! Name: Fred Age: about a year old Breed: Rubino Rosa Bourke Fred is a rare mutation in New Zealand. He was expensive and had to come to us via pet courier (again, not cheap). He is a very gentle bird and will help Pinkie sit on their (unfertilised) eggs, even persevering after Pinkie has given up on them. They will move out to an aviary once we get it in place and the weather warms up. They sing so beautifully, especially Fred. Beautiful category
thanks for posting everybody! Love your birds! So, where do you all get your beautiful birds? I have been looking at Petsmart but their variety is limited.

I got mine from Petsmart, but if I ever get more, I would probably go to a breeder to get them. I have to find out where I can get a Bourke, although I probably won't be getting more parakeets for a while anyways
my local tractor supply sales a lot of things for birds, & small animals so I don't have to worry about ordering cages, feed, feed and watering bowls, etc.
Name: Molly
Age: 2 yrs.
Breed: Rhode Island Red

Molly is one of my favorite chickens because she is the first one that hatched when I tried to hatch eggs. She always looks oblivious to her surroundings, so I'm not sure what category to put her in, but I'll go with beautiful.

I am very, very sad to say that this poor hen, along with seven of her friends, were killed by a fox just today. I have only three chickens now. I guess she'll have to drop out of the contest.
