Rolling around like a weirdo?

Yup, that's the very behavior. It just looked so undignified and Nancy usually walks around looking so proud and lovely. It threw me.

Very cute video! Looks like they're bathing in an old garden bed. I can't wait to let mine in the garden this Fall.

We move our little chicken tractor coop around the yard different spot every day. So I have a new hole each day for Brian to be annoyed at. When they get their free range time they are too busy pooping on my patio and searching our firewood stack for bugs (and maybe lizards, do they eat those?) to make dirt baths.

I don't care. I am so happy to have chickens they could turn the whole backyard into mud and I'd still love them. We always had yucky grass anyhow.

CHICKENS!!!

I have always wanted chickens. other little girls wanted a horse or a unicorn, but I just wanted friendly chickens. That I could hold and pet and hand feed. And I have them! And someday I will get eggs!

Right on, Erin! So glad your dream has come true. I'd always dreamed of having a backyard full of interesting animals, and never cared too much about having a traditional 'lawn'. BORING. We have a pretty garden that we fenced off, and then we let the animals have a blast with the rest. I never knew chickens could be so much fun! The whole family loves them so, so much.
