Roman Catholics!

I'm a Roman Catholic and I love my chickens. I believe you wondered who the patron saint was of animals (maybe only chickens?) St Anthony is the patron saint of all animals. I have a statue of him in my kitchen window with a bird on his arm. He made friends with animals and they were not afraid of him. You can probably search his name and find lots of info. I intent to do that. Will get back later!! MAY GOD BLESS ALL OUR FARM ENDEAVORS!

I was wrong about Saint Anthony. He is the patron saint of lost things. I should have remembered that - I have asked his help so many times.
The patron saint of animals is Saint Francis and he's the statue I have on my kitchen window. He must have been looking over my chickens. I have 12 hens and they are young and the weather is cold. I get 10 eggs a day!! Maybe more for all of them might not be laying yet!

'people like you can't seem to keep your noses out of them'..........I think that is rather rude.

I just feel these sites should be welcoming for everyone and everyone should feel free to comment or follow any post.

This kind of post is excluding lots of people for no reason other than some religious reason - and that is prejudice in my opinion.
I'm sorry, that came out worse then I intended.

The person starting this line is asking questions that only Catholics would know. I'm sure everyone is welcome, if you will tolerate some catholic talk. We do love our saints too and I have had miracles from some. I love to tell about them.
Saint Francis loved all animals AND made friends with all of them -even dangerous ones.
Anyone can read about him if you search his name.
I haven't had to ask his help yet but maybe I should to keep them safe, especially today as the wind chill is down to at least 10 and most are staying in the coop, little as it is. I am feeding them more today also because they find it uncomfortable to forage.

Something went wrong! I did not ask St Francis to watch over my chickens and he didn't. The neighbors dogs killed 11 of them at two different times. I only have two left and they seem so lonely. He will make it right he said. We'll see when he has to drive 2 hours to get adult Australorps to replace mine. They are cheap tho' if anyone wants adult birds. Only $3.50 a bird and you must take 25 all the same breed. Townline Hatchery (on the web) in Zeeland, Mi.
Now I am asking St Francis to help make this right and watch over my birds. The neighbor must get rid of his dogs because all the neighbors are telling of horrendous things the older dog has done to people in the road. Now they have it's pup and the mother is teaching it to be vicious also. Pray for me to St Francis! and thanks!
