Roo acting like an idiot

My roo had a few tail feathers missing today and a bit of a raw bump where they were. I put blue kote on him and he is running around like the devil is chasing him. through the hens around the cars, back to the coop, out in the yard, through the hens... Any ideas why?

I've not gotten that reaction before. Maybe it burns a bit, or he's frightened of the feeling.

I have never used Blue Kote before, but if it has alcohol in it, it may sting. Still, once his blood clots, he shouldn't be able to feel it.
It may just be the color that's scaring him, though.

maybe he is white. The barred rocks didnt act this way.

Blue kote burns it should stop soon, think tomato juice in a paper cut. But check back here in case someone else answers. I could be wrong. But I've gotten that stuff I'm cuts on my hands when treating a critter. I jumped around like a crazy roo too.lol

Has he settled down, he should have some time ago by now. If not, could be something else going on, or he's just extremely mortified that you actually sprayed that stuff on his sore tush!
