bought as a chick from a local breeder. I'm questioning the small brown flecks he has mixed in. He doesn't have very many but he's not a solid black. Would he be DQ'd for them? Thoughts? I guess I'm asking if I should still call him an ameraucana or if he should be an EE :/

that looks like a mix between a pea comb and a single comb to me. he is probably an ee instead

AMERAUCANA SHAPE (Large Fowl & Bantam Males)

COMB: Pea.
BEAK: Curved.
FACE: Nearly hidden by muffs.
EYES: Expressive.
WATTLES: Small, preferably absent.
EARLOBES: Small.
MUFFS AND BEARD: Full, well-rounded, medium length.
HEAD: Medium size.
NECK: Well-arched.
HACKLE: Full.
BACK: Medium length.
SADDLE: Medium in length.
TAIL: Well spread, medium length, carried at 45º above horizontal.
WINGS: Fairly large, tips carried above the hock joint.
BREAST: Prominent.
BODY AND STEARN: Body of medium length, stern well-tucked up.
LEGS AND TOES: Medium length set apart, four toes



yours should look like this when grown but i wouldnt breed him due to the comb and the brown coloring (note what the comb looks like)

He's an EE, not pure for pea comb. There is a single combed bird in his background.

Not the best advice to post the same question elsewhere. One thread on a subject is all that is allowed by BYC rules, folks.
