roo and hens not getting along

all my hens are about 5 months old. i have 8 RIR and one buff orp. i have a few mean RIR they peck me sometimes. but the rest are very nice. my roo is older, im not sure how old. i bought him at a flea market because he was extremley gorgeous. i found out hes an american game roo. he hops on em and dominates them. they freak out. being that he is doing this and they are only 5 months old will this have an impact on them? would it cause any problems laying later on?

5 months of age is old enough for mating behavior. They are probably just new at it, and maybe not quite ready hormonally. With that many hens overbreeding is unlikely to be an issue. They will very likely sort it out for themselves given time and a little more age.
