How long does it take for his red bit to grow cant remeber what u call it bloody brain lol theses r currently nearly 18 weeks also when do the pullets start laying and what to look out for
The comb and wattles will get redder as they mature. Some bird are faster than others. At 18 weeks you are close to getting eggs. My youngest was 17 weeks. The female will start to squat when she's close and also will kick around in the nesting box.
They are Brahma crosses, and have pea combs, so the rooster's comb will probably never get as big as a single combed bird.
The pullet isn't looking quite ready to lay. Probably at least three more weeks. You will know because her comb and wattles will be bright red when she is ready.
