Roo behavior

So my rooster fred has been generally a good boy and usually behaves until I mess with his ladies a bit too much. I've been working on making him even more friendly towards me by picking him up in the early evening and carrying him around for about 5 to 10 minutes making sure to give him a tasty treat each time. Today I was petting and giving him nice head scratches and each time I would do that his eyes would close a little bit and he would click his beak together. Is he happy and content when I do that or is he getting annoyed?

That's a good indicator of relaxation and enjoyment, in my experience. Be careful that your handling doesn't cause him to become overly familiar with you in an aggressive manner. Good luck!
