My 3-4 yr old roo is developing lameness over past week. Still walking, but acts like feet are tender. On inspection, no lesions perse. May be some swelling in legs/shanks. Seems to be eating and drinking OK... any ideas?

    First off, [IMG]

Does he have any other symptoms...like discharges, pale comb, diarrhea? Anything? There are a few viruses and bacterial diseases that can cause lameness...Mareks Disease, Fowl Cholera to name a few. Even botulism can cause lameness. If he is showing no other symptoms, it is possible he sprained something.

You could try getting some vitamins in him to possibly boost his immune system. This will only do him good. You could separte him for a while and make sure he is eating and drinking well enough. Some of these things are contagious. I hope he gets well soon. [IMG]
