This is my chicken that was born 03/02/2025. It is 12 weeks old and an English Orpington. Is it a roo?

This is the first cockerel I have been able to determine the gender of... now I will go out on a limb and say that it is likely a splash and not a lavender. Rhodebar Lover was just saying that it is not an English Orpington, but may be a production Orp. My only experience with Orpingtons are with hens, so I can be of little help with that. Good luck.

Thank you for your response! Oh goodness. The breeder told me an English Orpington and ChatGPT tells me lavender Orpington. Do you know what breed it is?
Here’s an English Orpington cockerel I’ve raised:

Chat GPT is always incredibly wrong with chicken breeds (I’ve tried testing it and it will legitimately lie about breed characteristics). Your bird is splash, not lavender. He could be a Splash Orpington from a production line but even then, his type is extremely light and would be exceptionally wrong even for a hatchery bird. I think a more likely answer is he is likely a mixed breed as he was from a breeder who seems to lack the knowledge of the breeds they’re selling. He almost has the body type of a Mediterranean breed but lacks white earlobes
