Roo or Hen?

I'm guessing the first pic is a roo. Here is a pic of my 4 week old BO by himself and the second is with the pullet.

Dave300... when you say they feel hard in your hand do you mean like they feel leaner? Because that is the case for this Orp. I also was told that saddle feathers are a way to tell but I didn't know if it was too early for that. The rest of my pullets do have rounded feathers but the one in question it's hard to say. I'll try to take some pics and post those.

Its doesn't always mean that you will feel leaner but sometimes. From the age of 4 weeks it is quite easy for a normal person to distinguish between male and female. By this age distinguishable appearance starts to happen, I mean comb, overall appearance, activities, dominating character(male will always dominate). Saddle and Hackle feathers won't grow before 4 months. Yes first pic is a roo and is second pic one is pullet and another one is roo, barred rock is pullet.

This first pick is the one you were asking about in your first post and yes 90% chance Roo and the others look like hens but all great looking birds and think you for getting all the photos together and sorry about taking so long in getting back to you .....

Nice flock .....

Thanks. I knew mine was a roo and the others were pullets. I posted mine so countryheart06 (original poster) could compare her pics of roo in question to mine.

Thanks everyone! And thanks for telling me when the saddle feathers come in Dave300... I was searching for that and couldn't find it. It looks like Roo is the consensus. I did email the lady I purchased them from because she guarantees pullets and she said it's too early to tell. I guess I will wait a little longer to see feathers and to see if he/she starts crowing. I would hate to give her up if she turns out to be a her. He/She doesn't seem to be very dominate if anything he/she is near the bottom of the pecking order I don't know if that's because he/she is a buff orp and they say because they are so sweet that tends to happen or if he/she is in fact a hen. Guess I will play the waiting game.
