Roo or Hen

Looks like a Roo to me but I want to make 100% 5mths old I thought it was hen until this am I saw its comb and waddle

This is the our other Roo..I thought at the same age they would look the same.

Can you take a photo of the first bird in a natural, standing position that shows the bird from the side? At 5 months this may well be a pullet nearing the point of lay if the color and size of the comb/wattles is more recent. Just as with humans, chickens mature at different rates - while your Red Sex Link cockerel has male comb, wattle and feather development that are quite pronounced, it would be possible for a slower maturing male of the same age to be less developed.
