How old? It looks like a rooster.
It is a rooster, sorryView attachment 1098232 View attachment 1098233 I'm another one of those new "chicken mamas", and have either a rooster or a very confused hen. I have 6 4 month old feather babies, and our Maggie is a Rhode Island Red that could be a Maxwell. I have been quizzing my friend that also has chickens but I'm still not satisfied with any of her answers. I want to believe that we have a hen here... I really don't want to have to find Maggie a new home. This one has started a rather unflattering crow, but I'm being told that hens will sometimes crow if they take over dominance of the flock. I have been watching for a spur, see none. And she only has developed one green tail feather. Can someone give me their opinions? Thank you!
Yep, that is definitely a cockerel. Sorry!View attachment 1098232 View attachment 1098233 I'm another one of those new "chicken mamas", and have either a rooster or a very confused hen.
