Roo question

Australorp hens and roos do

Oh, really. I had no idea. Hmm..I have 2 of those I think so they might be pullets then. Well looks like I can only get my hopes up on 2 of chicks being roosters. I really have no idea what breeds I have.
Since the only info I know about them they was wv raised and are straight run chicks. So who knows what I got.

I got a little help on some of them from members on here what breeds that might be. I need to do reading up on the breeds I have then.

Yep, my five Australorp pullets and my one roo are exactly the same feather color. The only way I could tell my one was a roo was that the pullets had a small yellow, then black comb, while the roo early on had a red comb that grew higher up on the head. Even now at 15 weeks, none of them, including the roo, has a very big comb and wattles. The roos have much bigger legs and feet.

I will have to go out and look at them again better later on today. Do you know how soon your roo starting getting his red comb? So I'm guessing they take a little longer to grow then other breeds?

It was at about four or five weeks. I bought all six at TSC as pullets, so was surprised when one started acting roo-ish and two started getting a very pink to reddish comb. The second ones comb eventually turned black like the rest, and the legs and feet were not large, so I only had one roo.

Thanks so much for your help. Right now I'm still not really sure. The combs are red but I don't have any pullets of the same breed to compare them to.
