so I have this salmon faverolle and I’m pretty sure he’s a he, buuuut at 25 weeks not so much as an attempt to crow, nothing. He(?) loves to hang out with my broody, just keeping her company, sometimes laying on top of her, he

definitely looks different than my girls, whom at the same age have shown no interest in laying but that’s a whole different story! So am I right that this is just a late crower or have I lost my mind? Thanks!!

That's a late crower and a very good rooster if he's trying to help your girl brood. Check out the threads on broody roosters--i think you'll like what you see.

I will do that! I was thinking he was just a weird roo, my girls just started laying a month ago so having a broody in itself is beyond exciting for me, I will definitely check out that thread!

My Salmon Faverolles roosters have always been slow. They develop slowly. They are slow to crow. When they do crow they don't crow half as much as other roosters I've had. They are also so good with the hens. I won't own anything but a Salmon Faverolles rooster.
