Yes,you want your coop with a metal roof insulated.You want the metal roof to be the same temperature as it is outside.If it is warmer under the metal it will condensate.I like metal by far over shingles.It is lighter,lasts longer,and snow slides right off.I would be afraid of mites harboring under tarpaper. Will
