Hello chicken lovers!! I am so excited to join the backyard chicken community! my boyfriend and I are diving in head first! we just put in a LARGE gaden and now want add a chicken family. i was thinking of getting 2 ameracaunas and 1 road island red.. im not 100% yet. we need a quiet breed that is a good layer. I live in PA, where winters are cold and summers hot and humid. any input it welcomed! we decided to use my old tv cabnet (its huge and no longer needed) to begin our little coop. Thanks every one!

Sex links are really good layers, they do well in all sorts of weather, and they can be quiet. (I have a few quiet ones, but some loud ones) Orpingtons are pretty good too, and RIRs.
