My chicks will be 2 weeks old tomorrow
I have had them outside in the day for a few days now, today was super breezy not cold and one day we had thunderstorm and they were outside too ( they have a shelter )

I'm wondering if I can turn off the heat lamp now. They huddle together but not piled up ( some of them will sleep on the other ones neck 🤦)

I'll attach some pic I took today

You can try turning it off and see how they react, though it might be a little hard to tell "we're cold" from "we don't like change" (peeping in distress, huddling).

A safer option is to dim the bulb, swap in a lower wattage bulb, or move the lamp away further to drop the temperature a bit, see how they react to that, and decide from there.

thank you guys
i have the lamp turned off for a couple of days now weather has been warm
they are not piling on top of each other but just huddled together like a pie
we shall see how it goes lol
my quails are out of light now too
