Roos and drakes

Ok, so it is nasty outside and I went to the website for the rescue where our ducks come from. I noticed they have TONS of roosters. Obviously, I know lots of people don't want them, and I know some of the reasons.
Soooo, this is my question. I have 8 female ducks, and one drake. My drake is pretty docile. He is a runner. If I got a friendly, docile roo, can he live with the ducks? Pros, cons? Will he be too lonely without a few chickens to keep him company.
Depending on the answers I get here, I may contact the woman at the rescue that I normally deal with. She is a wealth of knowledge and care deeply about her charges. I know she will give me an honest answer. But before I bother her, I thought I'd throw it out here. If I get a ton of answers saying it is a bad idea, I will drop it.
Just thinking.........................of course, this may just push hubby over the edge! LOL
If you get some hens along with the rooster it might be alright. But, please don't get him without any hens. I think Gertrude will scream her head off if she sees a black rooster ever again. I used to have two black roosters and not enough hens. First it was one rooster bothering her and then the other, so we had to get rid of both. Now we have two roosters and STILL not enough hens, but the drakes will chase them all around. It helps that most of my ducks now were raised by chickens so they are not afraid of them. My old ducks are still scaredy-cats though!

LOL, no we don't have any chickens. I just don't have the room for putting up a flock of chickens separate from the ducks. And I know that putting a drake in with the chickens would be a bad idea. But I was not sure if a rooster in with ducks was a bad thing too. Apparently it is. :(

The rescue does have hens, but much less frequently than roos. I am not looking to get into chickens per se. Just thought a single boy might be okay. It was just because many people don't want them that I thought maybe I could take one on. But it sounds like they would actually be better off staying where they are than being put in where it is less than ideal for them.

That is why I asked. I always try to get good info before adopting another species. And I appreciate all the help. Even if it was not what I wanted to hear! LOL

We just don't have the space for yet another coop/shed and fenced area. And this spring is going to be a lot of work, we have to rearrange the goats, ducks and rabbits living quarters and turnouts. So, the chicken boy idea will have to be shelved for the foreseeable future..............

TOtally understandable on all levels, nothing wrong with inquiring or seeing if something can work. Space and keeping proper quarters is something that has to be arranged, not everyone can accommodate multiple animals.

That is the problem! We HAVE multiple animals, inside and out! LOL. .Dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, horses, goats, guinea pigs, chinchilla, foster rats, fish

Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
