They where in a U S mail box no labels or paper work. I am not sure if he gave others away but if he did not then what hatchery would let you order just 16.

poor little fella! I like my roos too, they are pretty tough on the girls sometimes which isn't very good but I'm gonna try an hang on to all of them!! There must be someone that would give these handsome guys a good home yes?

I have to totally agree with SC-Hugh, though you could never get anything for them here, unless they were something special. If you think about it, there are not a lot of roos that are going to have a good home with a harem of their own--their are just too many roos! That is why I think it is sometimes better to freezer-camp them, or have your neighbor eat them, than just Craiglisting them if you don't know where they are going.

A lot depends on your particular neighborhood, whether or not you could get someone to pay $$$ for your unwanted roosters. There are some places where folks would pay you $10 for one, other places where you would have to tuck $10 bills under their wings just to get someone to take them.

This is why I tell folks to have a Plan B already in place for their unwanted roos before they begin to keep chickens. Even if you order sexed pullets from a reputable hatchery, even if you plan to keep roosters but end up with an aggressive one.

There are lots worse things that could happen to a rooster than being eaten by an appreciative family. And there are a lot of extra roosters in the world, most of them have their purpose on a plate.

Dadreda, I wish I'd known a couple of weeks ago. My rooster died after a raccoon attack. I just bought two buff rock roosters in Pikeville, and then found out one of my chicks, which I thought was a pullet, is probably a rooster, so it's too late for me! Where is Cumberland Furnace? I'm in between Sparta & McMinnville, in Middle TN.
