Roos?

I agree... BSL pullet and EE cockerel. It's really difficult with the day olds unless it is a sex link or you know how to vent sex day olds. When you are looking at older birds, roos will typically have a larger redder comb earlier on and will begin wattle development much earlier than pullets. Also, on some breeds/varieties, there are different color patterns associated with pullets and cockerels. Cockerels will typically have flashier colors than pullets and, in most breeds, cockerels will develop long pointed hackle (neck) feathers and saddle feathers (on the back immediately in front of the tail).
