roost and how high

I am about to build the roost in the new coop

only have 10 birds so I was thinking a ladder tpye roost with two perches one 19 inches
high and one 28 -30 inches off the floor will this work or should i rethink the design

Chickens want to roost as high as they can. So, to avoid fighting for their spot on the hightest roost, make the highest one long enough to hold your 10 chickens. I have 3...one at 3ft, 4ft and 5ft. And it's always a race to get to the highest one. I used a cut off ladder leading up to the 3 ft roost so my bantams and heavier breed chickens can get up easily.
